Honestly. It's because I saw a World Poker Tour episode on Subtv (a finnish TV channel) and instantly I was sold. I thought that it looks like something that I would like to do for living ...for a while at least. Anyway. Since I'm not a gambler I decided to learn the game for a while before entering to any real money games. I opened up an account on WPT Online and played some home games with my friends. And, what can I say. I saw the first episode at the end of 2005 and I'm still hooked. And still learning...
So, what has happened so far. Not that much. I've played No Limit Holdem with my friends, in online tournaments and in live tourneys at the Grand Casino Helsinki. I've managed to play my way out to numerous final tables in different online tourneys and even managed to win one Tuesday tournament (buy-in 25€) in Grand Casino. That was a nice experience. Nothing beats playing live tourneys when you're winning ;)
The biggest win (so far) is the 7500$ I received from finishing 8th at first (and propably only) Party Poker Monster Monthly Freeroll. I also won a seat to the Monster Online Grand Final that would've been held on May 2007 but since the George W. signed the Online Gaming Act or whatever it seems that the whole tournament has been cancelled. Well... Party Poker will give 1800 $ per each Gran Final seat so I think that it's ok as well. The thing that bugs me the most is that I also won a seat to Monster Monthly Off-line Finals that should've been held in England. So far I have not received any info about whether or not they are going to organize it. It should be from 29th to 31st of October so if they don't know about the subject so far I think they are not going to organize it. Sad... I would've liked to play against the online finalist and of course against the 9 pro poker player that would've participated to the event as well.
I even practised live playing because of the off-line tournament by buying tickets to three Tuesday tournaments (á 25€) and a seat to the LokaPokah Super Satellite (á 61€) from which I won a seat to the LokaPokah main event: 1000 + 50€ No Limit Holdem Freezeout Tournament with 70 participants but that is the another story and I will get back to that later.
C'Ya. Keep playing!
